Resorts World Las Vegas just opened up back in 2021, which makes it one of the newest casinos on the strip. At the time, Resorts World was the first casino to open on the Strip in the past decade, and it’s a property that has already had a ton of success.
Last year, this casino was chosen to host the PokerStars North American Poker Tour, and the event was more successful than anyone could have imagined. Now, the PokerAtlas Tour is planning its Las Vegas stop at Resorts World, and there is plenty of hype and excitement for the event.
The PokerStars North American Poker Tour tournament featured over 3,200 entries and a prize pool set at $ 4.2 million. This event is not going to come close to matching the total in cash prizes, but it should still attract plenty of entrants.
This event will not only give some of the top poker players a chance to win some money, but it will also provide more exposure for this casino. Word has spread quickly, but this event should end up showcasing all that the casino has to offer.
A Massive Property
Resorts World Las VegasResorts World was built on the site that used to be owned by Stardust, but that casino was demolished all the way back in 2007. Competing on the Strip is not something that is easy to do, but the owners of this new property have managed to have instant success.
The casino is 117,000 square feet in size, and there is also a hotel on the site that is 59 stories tall. Three different hotel chains are found on the property, and that has allowed over 3,500 hotel rooms to be available.
The poker room is a big draw, and will be used for this event, but the rest of the casino floor is impressive as well. There are 1,400 slot machines on the property, and 117 table games to be enjoyed.
Players aren’t going to have much time for entertainment while they are competing in the event, but the Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Beach House have become attractive options.
About the Event
While Resorts World will be looking to showcase the features of the property, PokerAtlas is going to be trying to put together a great event. There are 10 tournaments in total set to be played, with over $700,000 in guaranteed prize money available.
The Main Event will kickoff on March 14, and a winner is set to be crowned a few days later on March 18th. $300,000 is the current guarantee for the entire cash prize, but that number is going to increase based on the number of entries.
All of the action is set to begin on March 7th, but event number 2 isn’t going to take place until March 10th. The Resorts World Casino is going to be packed full of poker players for a week, and it should lead to some great action.
