Following one year of delay, makeovers at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino will resume this month. The casino had been scheduled for renovations in the fall of 2020. but, with the Coronavirus sweeping across the country, the casino had to pause its plan.
Without further setbacks, the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino revamps should be complete by November 2022. Beau Rivage is the largest casino in Mississippi, with over 1,700 guest rooms. As for the gaming space, it sits on around 70,000 square feet.
Beau Rivage casino belongs to MGM Resorts International. Brandon Dardeau is the president and COO of Southeast Operations. This means he oversees operations at both of MGM’s casino resorts in Mississippi.
MGM Resorts International appointed Brandon as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Southeast Operations on January 4, 2022. Apart from Beau Rivage, Brandon also oversees operations at Gold Strike Resort in Tunica, Mississippi.
The casino also plans to renovate two dining venues and the BuffaloZone, a slot-themed room. Beau Rivage had already renovated its suite rooms before the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mississippi is yet to legalize sports betting. Thus, casinos in the state have to attract players outside the state with their guest rooms. These guest rooms and guest experience must be exceptional for visitors to continually choose the casino resort, hence the need to renovate.
Expected Makeovers
Most casino resorts rely on repeat clients. Thus, they must maintain up-to-date features and amenities for their guests.
This led to Beau Rivage renovating a section in 2020. It was the first in over ten years. With the new management in place, Beau Rivage plans to pick up where it left and finish the remaining revamps.
The casino plans to bring in new furniture and update technology used on the property. For example, the casino will have the same quality of beds found at the Bellagio casino resort in Las Vegas. Also, visitors will use mobile devices to check in, access their rooms, and control their room’s thermostat.
Officials at Beau Rivage hope constructions will not disrupt normal visits from guests. The last time the casino was doing renovations, the operations went uninterrupted. The casino officials plan to use the same strategies to avoid normal operations. It also hopes to achieve the same world-class look that MGM’s Las Vegas casino possesses.
The Future at the Beau Rivage
Once the renovations are complete, guests will have access to similar amenities most casinos and hotels have in Las Vegas. MGM Resort International used its interior design team to create new looks for guest rooms at Beau Rivage.
The rooms’ design is inspired by the gulf coast. Thus, you can expect yellow, green, blue, and orange colors featured in the guest rooms.
Apart from the hotel rooms, Beau Rivage has also renovated two restaurants on the property. The revamps meet guest requests.
For example, the Jia restaurant has new furniture and is more open to the gaming floor. The other restaurant, the Terrace Café, will get new furniture and floor. It will also expand into the lobby and take a new name, Atrium Café.
The casino also has a poolside bar and café, theatre, a spa, fitness center, salon, and an arcade. With the coming construction, Beau Rivage will be one of the most luxurious land-based casinos in the USA.
