Daniel Kelly and David “Doc†Sands to Fight for next spot on Doyle Brunson’s team of elite pros in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, Nevada – May 25, 2010 It’s not just the Main Event bracelet at this year’s WSOP that will decide poker’s next big legend. A new contest announced today by DoylesRoom.com will shift the spotlight from big-name pros with endorsements to a handful of online poker titans without.
Daniel Kelly and David “Doc†Sands are two of a possible three or four players confirmed to take part in DoylesRoom.com’s WSOP Brunson 10 competition. The two will face off against each other at the WSOP for the next spot on the Brunson 10, Doyle Brunson’s team of elite poker pros. Both players will earn points for every cash and the player with the most points will be drafted to the Brunson 10.
At just 26 years old, Doc Sands is a well-respected member of the online poker playing community thanks to his proven championship style of play. Sands has won over $2.2 million at the tables, including a 1st place win in the FTOPS XII Event 10 for $259,440 and another tournament title in the Sunday Major that added $132,788 to his bank account.
But the 7th spot isn’t in the bag for Doc. Sands has some serious competition in the name of Daniel Kelly. At just 21 years old, Kelly has won over $4 million playing poker. On September 20, 2009, Daniel took 4th place in the WCOOP 2009 Main Event for $643,200 and won WCOOP Event 44 for $252,350. Most recently, Kelly won his WSOP package through DoylesRoom.com.
The aspiring DoylesRoom pros will compete at the WSOP for the top spot on the Brunson 10 Become a Legend Leaderboard. Players will earn points each time they cash at the World Series of Poker. The player with the most points at the end of the series will be signed to Doyle Brunson’s team of pros.
The next Brunson 10 member will join Zachary Clark, Amit Makhija, Chris Moorman, Dani Stern, Alex Kamberis and Steve Gross on Doyle Brunson’s team of elite pros. Doyle Brunson, poker’s biggest legend, will continue to handpick members for his group of young, elite poker players until the team is packed with 10 of the world’s best legends-in-the-making.
