Caesars Entertainment Relaunches Tropicana Online Casino in New Jersey

Caesars Entertainment declared on April 5 that it will return the Tropicana Online Casino to New Jersey’s casino industry. This will be the casino’s online version and it will increase its presence in the state’s gaming market.

Tropicana Online Casino’s desktop version is live, thus allowing mobile players to download it on Android and iOS. Its online version comprises video poker, slot machines, and table games like baccarat, blackjack, European and American roulette. Still, Caesars will introduce other responsible betting initiatives alongside relaunching Tropicana Online.

Its first initiative is a complex universal exclusion policy that incorporates participants who are in a New Jersey-sponsored self-exclusion list where the gaming company is active to the universal exclusion list of all its gaming platforms and facilities.

Caesars has a new 21+ betting policy which limits Caesars Rewards accounts to people who are above 21 years. Still, in places whose law permits it, the operator will restrict all online gaming, sports, pari-mutuel, and domestic gaming choices to gamblers above 21 years.

Six states in the country allow online casinos. They include New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, and Connecticut. Caesars Entertainment has an existing brand that provides online gaming in New Jersey.

Tropicana Online’s Fate in the State

Tropicana Online Casino is likely to be a brand that will lure local players that often wager at a land-based casino on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. It launched in 1981 using that brand, which was created in 1919. Besides, it is one of Caesars Entertainment’s three properties on the Boardwalk.

The others include Harrah’s and Caesars Palace. Eldorado Resorts formed “new Caesars” in 2020 after taking over the firm and enjoining Tropicana Atlantic City to its Caesars portfolio. Eldorado ran Tropicana on the Boardwalk before the takeover.

Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI) owns the land which Caesars leases. Tropicana Atlantic City has a rich corporate history as Tropicana Entertainment LLC filed for bankruptcy in the 2008 universal financial crisis.

Carl Icahn, a financier, aided the company in 2010 to emerge from bankruptcy. Still, Tropicana Entertainment took part in several acquisitions and mergers for eight years until Eldorado bought it in 2018. Icahn spearheaded Eldorado’s acquisition of “old Caesars” in 2019.

Caesars Entertainment started concentrating on developing a specific brand. So, Tropicana Online Casino will thrive in iGaming.
Even so, Golden Nugget and Borgata have online versions in New Jersey. DraftKings and BetMGM have unique online gaming sites in the state.

Caesar’s Unprecedented Move

The gaming operator’s declaration about relaunching Tropicana Online was a few days after a gaming analyst claimed that investors are giving Caesars Digital enough appreciation. Tropicana Online is almost reaching its online unit’s profitability, partly due to its strong ties with the famous Caesars Rewards.

Caesars stated in its latest press release that the online casino and new iCasino application will provide players with better functionality with a wide array of popular casino games. Also, it will integrate them with the loyalty program.
