Attorneys Marshall Cole and David Merrill submitted a case against Scott Sibella and World Las Vegas to the U.S. District Court on October 9, accusing them of lack of care and preventing emotional stress by denying fraudsters and gambling offenders an opportunity to wager on the casino’s floor. Even so, IRS Criminal Investigations and the U.S. Homeland Security agents of Vegas hotels are reported to investigate the casino and hotel.
It later sacked Scott Sibella for breaching its policies. But, the two attorneys recently submitted the lawsuit for Robert J. Cipriani, a Californian player.
His social media profiles have the “Robin Hood 702” username. The investigation’s subpoena instructs the casino to submit all communication between its officials and past customers. Moreover, the new lawsuit describes Cipriani as an activist, regular player, and kind donor who often funds environmental, poverty alleviating, and educational charitable causes.
The player was on the limelight in 2022 due when he had fraud and robbery charges. He played at the casino, and his charge was after it charged Robert Alexander in November 2020. But the court later diminished the gaming venue’s accusations to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
David Stroj Plays at the Hotel-Casino
Cipriani disclosed that the property didn’t prevent David Stroj, a sentenced illegal gamer, from playing on its premises. Yet, Stroj held shares in Tacos El Cabron, one of the property’s restaurants.
Surprisingly, Cipriani urged World Las Vegas’ management to let Brandon Sattler to gamble on its floor despite being charged in a $13 million bankruptcy fraud scandal. Cipriani has made numerous posts on social media accusing the casino’s management of creating oppressing regulations. He called out some of its officials, including K.T. Lim, Genting Group’s Chairman, for neglecting their role on the issue after excluding the bettors and sacking Sibella.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) conducted a one-year inquiry that freed Sibella from the regulatory violations. However, it didn’t change Cipriani’s accusations. Instead, he posted on his X account on October 9 that he had filed a federal lawsuit against Sibella and Resorts World Las Vegas.
Colby Williams, one of Sibella’s lawyers, responded to the case, stating that they are checking Cipriani’s accusation. He appears to have modified his claims against Sibella and the hotel casino despite the state’s gaming regulators deeming them to be false.
Cipriani Adds Other Charges
Cipriani’s new case accuses the hotel casino of ignoring his information. He notes that Sibella didn’t act despite getting several alerts that players with ongoing criminal charges and records were gambling on its floor. The player explained that the property and Sibella’s inaction harmed it.
Williams referred to the CDC Gaming Reports stating that Cipriani initially faced a larceny charge before getting a robbery charge more than four months after his arrest. The recent charge is a category B felony and violent crime with at least two years of imprisonment.
