Phil Ivey Earns Top Spot on All Time Money List

Being at the top of poker’s all time money list is a goal of just about every poker pro. Professional poker players show their skills by how much money they are able to earn at the poker table. The top spot of the all time money list recently saw a name change when poker pro Phil Ivey earned second place during the Aussie Millions $100k Challenge.

Daniel Negreanu had held the top spot for the past few months after he finished in second place in the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event. Ivey earned a second place finish in the Aussie Millions $100k Challenge when he was knocked out by Dan Shak.

Ivey earned a prize of AUD 600,000 which is $544,219 in US dollars. This amount brought his career winnings to $12,804,433. Negreanu was sitting at $12,432,367 so Ivey only passed him by just under $400,000.

Ivey is a highly recognizable poker pro and he is considered by many as the best all around poker player competing today. Ivey won his first WSOIP bracelet in 2000 and for the past eight years he has earned more than $1 million each year.

It will be interesting to see how long Ivey will last at the top spot of the all time money list. Will Negreanu earn a nice win to move back up to the top spot or will Ivey continue to hold the number one seat. Jamie Gold is not far behind, as he sits third on the list, so we could see him move up in the standings.
