Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament to Benefit Montel Williams Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Foundation

Montel at 2007 WSOPMontel Williams, host of the Emmy Winning Montel Williams talk show has announced a charity poker game to benefit the Montel Williams MS Foundation. The charity poker tournament will be held in New York on the 13th of March. Montel who's new to the game of poker actually made quite a big entrance at the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) where held onto the tournament chip lead throughout his entire first day of play. Williams has also made several trips to Vegas and Atlantic City often playing poker for as many as 12 hours in a row.

Montel Williams went public with his own MS diagnosis in 1999, he has since shared that feeling with his fans:

When the neurologist said those three words - "You have MS" it hit me like a brick.

Montel had heard of MS, but says that he didn't know what it was. Aside from the possibility that he could lose control of his body, and that he would feel 'excruciating pain'. Following 2 months of serious depression, Montel made a personal life choice, opting to use his own MS to make a difference for not only himself, but as a call to action, an opportunity make a difference in the lives of millions of people that like Montel suffer from MS.

Every dollar raised goes to research dedicated toward a cure for MS.

The Pro Celebrity Poker challenge will kick with a cocktail reception and dinner which will be followed by entertainment, an awards reception, and finally the celebrity poker tournament.
