Philip Hilm, the World Series of Poker final table  chip leader started out as a professional poker player in late 2003 when a shortly after a business gone bad took a side burner to a job selling coffee machines to grocery stores. A friend of Hilm’s, who is by the way a professional backgammon player, introduced him to the world of online poker.

Hilm spent about a month studying the game, read poker books, and honed his skills playing Internet poker. It didn’t take long before Hilm’s new-found love of poker was earning him more than his day job, selling coffee machines, the natural step, get rid of the day job.

Since his entrance into the poker world, 31 professional poker play Philip Hilm has cashed in one World Series of Poker Event (the Short Handed NL Event at the 2005 36th Annual World Series of Poker) where he took home a cash prize of $6,390 from a $2500 buy in event.

Hilm, who currently resides in Cambridge, England, and was born in Denmark, also achieved 2 cash place finishes in the European Poker Tour, and a fourth place finish at the 2006 Scandinavian Open, in addition to a 15th place finish at the 2007 Monte Carlo Grand Final.
