West Virginia Gets Their First Poker Table Games

October 29, 2007

West Virginia Poker RoomsMany happy poker players are able to get their fix at their local casinos now that two racetracks in West Virginia have opened table games to their players. With the government making online poker playing for real money harder to play, poker players can now play in a table game just a short drive away. Earlier this month, Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort in Hancock County, West Virginia and Wheeling Island Racetrack and Gaming Center in Ohio County West Virginia have opened their poker rooms up to the public.

With votes from residents giving the green light, the Race Tracks wasted little time and neither did the players. Within two hours after opening their poker tables for the first time at Wheeling Island the tables were full.

And with the new legislation in place, Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center in Kanawah County, West Virginia, plans on having their poker room up and running later on this year.

And poker tables is not where it is going to stop for these gaming centers as more types of games will be added so that there is a mix of table games to pick from. Games like blackjack and roulette are allowed but it was felt that poker tables would be the easiest thing to put into action first. Hopefully, if things go as planned, we will see blackjack and roulette tables in the beginning of 2008.
