SEC Championship: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Auburn Tigers – Saturday December 2, 2017

It comes down to this. In Atlanta on Saturday – the winner of the SEC title game will be playing in the College Football Playoffs. The Georgia Bulldogs will take on the Auburn Tigers. This is a rematch of a game played a couple weeks ago, where the Tigers of Auburn just whipped Georgia. The Bulldogs would love to get revenge and take a shot at the national title.

The Georgia Bulldogs are 11-1, with their lone loss to Auburn. The Auburn Tigers are 10-2 on the season, but within the last month have downed Georgia and Alabama – both teams that were #1 at the time. The losses this season for the Tigers came to Clemson early in the season, and also to LSU. The Auburn Tigers are -3 over the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday.

Nick Chubb and Sony Michel have got to be studs in this game for the Georgia Bulldogs to win. The Bulldogs finished the regular season as the 9th best running team in America. The Bulldogs averaged nearly 266 yards per game on the ground. Chubb was the leader, with 1,098 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Jake Fromm has taken over quarterback duties for the Bulldogs, and handled the spot well. Kirby Smart’s passing attack was near the worst in the nation all season. The Bulldogs just did not give Fromm many attempts. The Bulldogs finished 5th in the nation in defense. Georgia allowed just under 14 points per game.

Tigers Also Enjoy Running

The Auburn Tigers are another team that loves to run the football. Gus Malzahn and his Tigers rushed for more than 237 yards per game during the regular season. Kerryon Johnson was one of the top running backs in the country this season, but is questionable with an injury. The Tigers running back finished with 17 touchdowns on the ground and more than 1,200 yards.

Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham has taken over and done a fine job. The quarterback threw for 2,682 yards and 16 touchdowns, with 5 of them to Ryan Davis. The Tigers won the SEC West with their win over Alabama, also finishing a game ahead of the Tigers from LSU.

Kirby Smart and his Georgia Bulldogs are ready to get revenge on their lone loss of the season. Look for Georgia to have a better game plan in this game. The plan would and will have Georgia opening up a few more holes for the stud running backs to get through. Look for the toughness of the Georgia Bulldogs to shine through here.
