Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins Betting Preview

Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins Betting Preview

A new edition of Sunday Night Football is upon us, featuring two teams in the AFC that are seldom in the prime time slots for games.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, fresh off their victory over Tom Brady, will take a trip on the road to take on the Miami Dolphins, who have not won a game since Tua Tagovailoa went out with an injury.

There will likely be a whirlwind of conversation surrounding head injuries and concussions leading up to this game, with the nature of Tua’s concussion and even Kenny Pickett, who was placed in protocol this past Sunday.

Leading up to this game, both teams are hungry to get a win to keep their seasons trending in a more positive direction after a rocky first third of the year.

As we look at the spread for this game, with Tua back in the lineup, the Dolphins draw a much greater favorite at home over the Steelers at -6.

A defensive led attack in Pittsburgh

Since the retirement of Big Ben, the Steelers have gone back to their roots with elevating the importance of their defense over their offense.

There are big-name players in all three levels of the defense, and in the games that they kept close and even won, it is the defense that shines.

Kenny Pickett has looked pretty solid for being a rookie quarterback, the only rookie quarterback taken in the first round of the latest draft.

He can move the chains, and he seems to have a better connection on the outside with some of his receivers than the connection that Mitchell Trubisky had.

Time for the Dolphins to get back on track

After blowing everyone’s expectations out of the water in the first three weeks of the season, Miami has gone 0-3 with backup quarterbacks replacing Tua.

Those three games have not been very pretty, and the offense looked stagnant at best. The only positive was the development of Raheem Mostert and the running game.

If the running game can look as good as it has with Mostert, and Tua fires up his connection with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill on the outside, this offense will be scary to face.

The arrow is pointing up in Miami, but it is going to be up to the health of Tua moving forward to see if it will continue trending that way.

Steelers @ Dolphins Betting Prediction

The road has not always been the easiest to get here, but both these teams have a solid chance to make better on their seasons, starting with this game on Sunday night.

With the return of Tua in the lineup, it seems like signs are pointing up in Miami, and Hill and Waddle can go back to being the dominant receiving core they had been in the opening weeks.

The Dolphins on their home field have a strong advantage, so take them in this spread at -6 to take care of business and for the offense to have a good game.
