The annual America’s Poker Classic is currently underway at the Bicycle Casino with twenty events taking place and over $800,000 in guaranteed prize money up for grabs. The tournament series will consists of events from April 1st until the 18th with tournaments taking place each day.
The first event of the series took place on the 1st and it was a $50,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em tournament. On the 2nd a $150,000 guaranteed no Limit hold’em tournament begins which is also a multiple day re-buy tournament. This tournament will finish up on April 4th.
The Bicycle Casino has changed a few things about the tournament series after players voiced their concerns. Players wanted earlier tournament start times and earlier finish times for the tournaments and the Bicycle Casino took their concerns into consideration. The tournaments of the series will now begin at either 3:00pm or 5:00pm.
Players who compete in the America’s Poker Classic will find several events with different variants of poker including H.O.R.S.E, Stud Hi/Lo, Omaha Hi/Lo and Pot Limit Omaha E.O. The tournament will also have a Chinese poker tournament as well as a Mexican poker tournament take place on the 4th and the 6th respectively.
A charity event will also be taking place during the tournament series to help raise money for the Smile Train organization. Dr. Jerry Buss, the L.A. Lakers owner, will be hosting the Smile Train Charity Event and it will begin on April 10th at 3pm with a buffet lunch and the tournament will follow at 5:00pm. This event will have a buy-in of $250.000 which will be donated to the Smile Train Organization and a $25.00 registration fee is also needed. Players will be able to earn Lakers memorabilia as well as other prizes that are at an estimated value of $25,000.
The Classic will continue with a $100,000 guaranteed tournament on April 11th to the 13th and the event will conclude with a Championship $250,000 guaranteed tournament on April 16th to the 18th. The final event of the series will be a no limit hold’em $25 bounty tournament which will take place on April 18th.
