Kentucky’s Witch Hunt Against Online Poker Continues

According to reports today the Common Wealth of Kentucky has filed suit in Franklin Circuit Court against many online poker sites including an Ireland based company called Pocket Kings, you might have heard of them, none other than the company that operates Full Tilt Poker.

The lawsuit covers 14 pages, claiming that the online poker sites are in violation of state statute 454.210. The state would like the courts to order the return of all monies lost by residents of Kentucky. Well, actually, the state would like a little more than what was lost by those in Kentucky. The state wants 3 times the losses incurred by grown men and women that live within the state of Kentucky and chose to gamble on the Internet.

Looks like the good Gov. Steve Beshear really has it out for online poker, and online gambling as a whole, or maybe it’s just the free will the folks in Kentucky are displaying that piss’s him off.

The first suit involving online poker filed by Gov Beshear was his attempt to steal 141 international online gambling domains. That case is also not yet resolved.
