Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will be the site for the next WSOP Academies ladies-only camp. The camp is available for women who are interested in receiving lessons from world-class instructors. The scheduled instructors are Annie Duke, Alex Outhred and Joe Navarro. There will be scheduled seminars, opportunities for interactive workshops, and live hand demonstrations. There will also be customized handbooks available for each lady. Navarro will also be a new seminar featuring female specific non-verbal behavior.
The ladies-only camp sells out very quickly, so anyone interested should sign up soon. The cost of the camp is $1,699 and there are a limited number of spaces available. Not only will the attendees receive firsthand experience, but they will also get to compete in a real tournament. Five winners from the tournament will receive a seat in the 2008 WSOP $1,000 ladies event. This will be an excellent way for the ladies to apply the skills they will learn.
The World Series of Poker recently produced a winner from this year’s ladies-only camp. Sally Boyer participated in the $1,000 ladies no-limit hold’em World Championship and won. Sally beat out 1,286 players to win first place and a bracelet. She took home a prize of more than $262,000. With more women participating in poker tournaments and attending camps we are sure to see more women participating in WSOP events.
