Total Rewards Making Changes in 2013

The largest casino company in the world is making several changes to their Total Rewards player’s club.  Caesars Entertainment sent mailers with the new information to their players this week.  The changes take place in 2013 and affect tier levels that will be obtained through 2014.  Players can also check out their official site at www.totalrewards.com to check comps information as well.

The most noticeable change that players may complain about is that the number of tier points that are required in a year to reach each level has risen.  There are also two new tiers.  Previous requirements are in parenthesis.

  • Gold – All new players
  • Platinum – 5000 tier credits (4000 tier points)
  • Diamond – 15,000 tier credits (11.000 tier points)
  • Diamond II – 40,000 tier points (new tier)
  • Diamond III – 80,000 tier points (new tier)
  • Seven Stars – 150,000 tier points (100,000 tier points)

Now that we have the bad news out of the way there is some good news.  Players that give a lot of play on a typical day will be rewarded with bonus tier points.  These are points that go towards a player’s tier level but do not affect a player’s comp balance.  Caesars Entertainment does not use a calendar day to determine these bonus tier credit days.  They use a promotional day.  This varies by property but it is typically a 24 hour period that starts at 3am daily.

The new bonus tier credits are as follows.  A player will only earn the highest bonus that they achieve for the day.

  • Earn 500 tier credits in a day and receive 125 bonus tier credits
  • Earn 1000 tier credits in a day and receive 1000 bonus tier credits
  • Earn 2500 tier credits in a day and receive 2500 bonus tier credits

These tier credits may be applied for all tiers except Seven Stars which requires an internal review and special invitation.  Players may still earn Diamond in a Day by earning 5000 tier credits in a day but bonus tier points may not be applied to the Diamond in a Day promotion.  Points are easily earned for blackjack or table games play, along with slots and poker too.

Special Perks for Higher Tiers

The higher tiers do not award player points but they do allow players to receive special perks.  Most properties will have special cashier cage, buffet and Total Rewards center lines for Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars players.  Diamond and Seven Stars players also receive special offers and first in line dinner reservations.

Diamond Lounge

The goal of most players is to obtain Diamond so that they may receive access to the exclusive Diamond Lounge available at most properties.  The Diamond Lounge is typically open from 4pm to 10pm daily.  Diamond players will enjoy a full bar and appetizers in the Diamond Lounge and may bring one guest.

The new Total Rewards program looks like one that will reward tourists that play a lot in a short period of time and will take away from players that only gamble an hour or two each day.  The tourist that plays long hours is likely the player Caesars Entertainment looks to attract and these changes will help them accomplish that goal.
