Cpays Affiliate Certification Revoked by Casino Affiliate Programs

June 1, 2007

In a statement by the owner of the increasingly popular gambling webmaster affiliate forum, Lou announced that Cpays certification at CAP will be revoked.

This is not the first time revocation of Cpays CAP certification has come up for discussion in the past, suggestions for revocation were met with comments regarding keeping the line of communication open, pleasing the masses (or the multiple people that do business with and promote Cpays several gambling properties (such as CD Poker).

However, it would seem that the Gambling giant Cpays has lost some of its pull when Playtech decided to stop accepting players from the United States.

Here is the statement as posted on the CAP forum:

Professor (CAP Editor):

After a great deal of thought on the subject we have made the decision to remove CAP certification for CPays effective immediately.

For years we wrestled with this issue, but due to the large number of CAP members who worked with them we felt it best to keep the lines of communication open. We also tried our best to encourage CPays to move in a positive direction with respect to marketing practices both internally and via their larger affiliates.

That is the ONLY reason we maintained their certification for as long as we did despite adamant objections from many CAP members.

What’s different now?

1. The decision by Playtech to no longer market in the US severely impacted their earning potential for many CAP members. As a result they lost traction with our affiliates and the argument that we were serving the needs of most members by keeping CPays on board evaporated.

2. There are also ongoing issues with both internal marketing sources and rogue affiliates employing black hat promotional techniques that never seems to end. Quite frankly it’s become apparent that there are only token efforts at best being made to reduce this problem. Unfortunately working in a positive manner towards a resolution doesn’t seem to be effective with this group.

3. We have ongoing accounting issues with CPays and the constant aggravation of having to hound them for membership fees is outweighing any benefit of having them here. If they give CAP this much trouble for such a nominal amount we are concerned what affiliates will go through to get paid in a timely manner.
