Bears Two-Headed Running Back

The Bears have stepped up their game this year, and the stats show that.  Their weakest point is the pass, which is improving. They rank 21st in the league currently, getting 265.7 yards per game.  Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen have combined in the backfield, ranking 6th with 130.7 yards per game. In total yards, the Bears rank 9th.  The Chicago defense has been their story this year.

Their secondary has been average, giving up 262.5 yards per game, ranking 18th.  Against the rush, there have barely been any teams that are better. The Bears allow only 87.5 yards per game and have only allowed one 100 yard rusher.  They have also not allowed a single rushing touchdown. These monster numbers rank 4th in the league. In total yards allowed, the Bears rank 12th.

As reported by USA Today:

“A little more than one day after Allen Robinson told reporters at Halas Hall that his groin injury was feeling much better, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the free-agent prize receiver is expected to miss Week 8’s game against the New York Jets.”

“According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Khalil Mack will test his injured ankle in pregame warmups to determine whether he goes hunting for Sam Darnold.”

Robby Anderson adds to a long list of injuries for the Jets, including their starting center. Sam Darnold will have to show up in a big way.

Take the Bears at Home

If the Jets were healthy, they could be a good play at these odds, especially considering the Bears’ record.  However, they are a few mistakes away from being 6-0. The Bears should take this one easily. Bet on the Chicago Bears at -9.5
