Sacramento Kings at Denver Nuggets Betting Pick and Prediction

Sacramento has been playing some great ball of late and hopes to keep it going tonight, continuing their push for the #8 spot in the west. It has been 13 years since they last qualified for the playoffs.

Denver, on the other hand, hopes to stay within striking distance of the Warriors. They do not lose many homes with the home altitude advantage they possess at the Pepsi Center.

Kings:

So far so good for this team, which is overachieving in 2018-19 as the young core came together quickly after yet another losing season last year. Buddy Hield is shooting the three as well as anybody in the league. De’Aaron Fox’s ability to make plays has been something to marvel at, just like his quickness. Marvin Bagley III and Harry Giles have both been playing terrific ball for the Kings over the past month. Now they add Alec Burks to the mix, as another playmaker joins them off the bench. Harrison Barnes should also serve to improve the offense.

They just have to keep it going, and it seems very doable. In any year past, it would be hard to feign confidence in the Kings, but this time it’s all genuine. They have a serious chance to get to the postseason, and even if they draw the Warriors, it could be a learning experience. After saving the franchise from moving to Seattle, owner Vivek Ranadive should expect nothing less from the Kings.

Nuggets:

This just might be the day we finally see the return of guard Isaiah Thomas. There could be a chance he has no role when all is said and done because of how amazing Jamal Murray has continued to be, along with the rapid improvement of backup guard Monte Morris. He and Malik Beasley have kept the team rolling while Gary Harris and the aforementioned Murray have been in and out of the lineup this year. Their highest-paid player, Paul Millsap, has had a minimal impact, yet the team has not been slowed by it in the slightest. They keep going.

The Nuggets are only the fifteenth highest-scoring team in the NBA but rank #6 in points against, which has helped them a lot. They’ve got seven players scoring in double-figures on average, and 11 (!!!!) guys scoring at least six points per game. The ability of the reserves on this team to seamlessly come in and replace injured starters has been something to absolutely marvel at.

Kings get the win away from home

Like we said, Denver does not lose at home much. But this is a different day. The Kings are fighting for their playoff lives, and every time they can win with the Clippers/Lakers taking a loss will be big for them. They can almost taste a top-eight spot, and despite having a few months left, playing well now will ultimately land them in in the dance that we call the NBA postseason.
