Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins Betting Pick and Prediction

Philly has to win and hope for the Vikings to lose if they want to shock the league and get back to the postseason. Nick Foles has done it again for them, and taken a team in need of a leader, and gone out and produced big-time.

Washington can play spoiler by ending Philly’s season with a win at home. They are going to Josh Johnson for a third week in a row, in the hopes he can continue his decent play.

Eagles:

They only have the #17 scoring offense in the league, but Nick Foles has been VERY good in the four games he has started. He has gone 3-1, throwing for 1,192 yards and five touchdowns, to just three picks. He has only been sacked six times, and his chemistry with Alshon Jeffery has been vital to their success. Josh Adams has emerged as the top RB, and though he has only had one explosive game, he has done enough to help the offense win. The recent return of Darren Sproles has also given the offense a huge lift.

Michael Bennett and Fletcher Cox have led a pass-rush that looks a bit less impressive than last year. But, they have put constant pressure on, and they have 59 QB hits between the two of them. And though he has struggled with 50+ yard kicks, Jake Elliott is 23-25 inside of 50 and has continued to show his special talent.

Redskins:

They rank #29 in points per game but have started three quarterbacks in the past four weeks, so we can’t really fault them. They were a playoff team with Alex Smith at the helm, and it is no surprise to anybody that they aren’t with him out. They also have over 25 different players on the IR right now, and it is very hard to explain just how much they miss them all. It began with Derrius Guice tearing his ACL in the preseason, but Adrian Peterson, who they picked up right off the free agent streets, has rushed for 1,042 yards and seven touchdowns.

They have not had any dynamic wide receivers this year, and Jamison Crowder missed half the year, while Paul Richardson suffered a season-ending injury after week 7. Ryan Kerrigan has recorded 12 sacks and is on his way to a third straight Pro Bowl. DJ Swearinger, who had four picks to lead the team, was cut last week after speaking down on the team leadership. Josh Norman has recorded three, while Mason Foster and Quinton Dunbar each have two.

Eagles get the W, do their part

Nick Foles is going to have another masterful performance to help lead his team to victory on the road. This is going to be a hostile environment in week 17, and this will not faze him at all.

Josh Johnson will play well enough to extend his NFL career into next season. After all those years out, he did his best while he was out there. A feel-good story.
