Monday Night Football: New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills

After another slow start to the season, the Pats have gotten it together with four wins in a row, and are looking like the AFC favorites yet again. With Edelman and Josh Gordon in the mix, the WR corps are fantastic. Brady is as good as he has ever been.

The same cannot be said for Buffalo, who have already used three starting QB’s. Derek Anderson did not get it done in his first start, and with Josh Allen sidelined, they don’t have many options. Yikes. The Bills are +14 against the Patriots tonight.

Patriots Keep Winning

Though they should be without Sony Michel this week, there is still no cause for concern with the Pats. The hottest team in the AFC, their offense has been insanely impressive. Kenjon Barner will likely be taking most of the rushing attempts this week, and that’s okay. Getting back to the receiving game, Gronk leads with 405 yards, with James White not far behind with 380. Chris Hogan has 284, Gordon has 224, and Dorsett and Edelman are close behind. Brady had 16 TD’s to 7 INT’s this year (a high number for him to this point), but he has only taken nine sacks. He always gets the ball out quickly.

New England only has nine sacks, so there is a lot that can improve in that area. They have picked off opposing QB’s 10 times, however, as their DB’s have hands just as good as the wide receivers. New England is 14-point favorites on the road. That should say it all.

Bills Struggling Big Time

The Bills are 2-5 and have started 3 QB’s. And with Josh Allen out, things only get worse. Derek Anderson signed a few weeks ago to mentor Allen, then he gets hurt and they turn to Peterman, who is arguably the most ineffective QB in the NFL. Anderson gets the start and his longest pass goes for 32 yards- and he tossed three picks. Yikes. The run-game has been atrocious for them, and nobody has even reached 250 yards in seven games. The receivers have been ineffective, and they average one offensive TD per game. Yikes.

The Bills have sacked opposing QB’s 19 times and picked them off five more, but it doesn’t say too much about them. They have a great pass-rush, but it does not do them much good. There are many things that could be better with this team. There are so many things this team struggles with, and it’s hard to fathom that they actually made the playoffs last year.

Pats dominate in upstate NY

This one will not be in doubt for the Pats, who are 14-point favorites. They will cover the spread and may truthfully send Derek Anderson into retirement. Buffalo trading McCarron is looking worse and worse by the week, because he’d be of huge help right now.

New England will score five offensive touchdowns, and keep Buffalo from doing much.
