MLB Betting Preview: St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers

After getting two-hit last night, St. Louis is hoping to bounce back and look for anything positive that they can find. They could not hit anything yesterday, and it showed. With both the Cubs and Brewers picking up wins, there is a little added pressure on them to perform tonight to try and make up the ground that they just gave up. It is going to be a battle in the division until the last day of the season, and for now, every game counts.

LA, on the other hand, continues to dominate teams, no matter who the pitcher is. Tony Gonsolin fired six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven. They have both him and Dustin May in the rotation now, and both guys are looking good. A performance like this could set the tone for him and eventually lead him to be a key part of the pitching staff in their quest for a third straight NL title.

The moneyline on the Cardinals is +170, while it is -200 for the Dodgers.

Cardinals In Search Of Victories

As hot as Paul Goldschmidt has been, it is pretty clear that it takes a team of nine to get wins, not just one hot hitter. With Marcell Ozuna back from the IL, perhaps he can give the lineup the boost that it is searching for as they try to get things going. Paul DeJong has been hitting the ball solidly of late, while Jose Martinez has also been solid. The starting rotation has been a big part of their success of late, and it will need to remain that way for the wins to keep coming.

Miles Mikolas is going to make his 23rd start of the season tonight. He has posted a 7-11 record with a 4.00 ERA in 126 innings of work. He has struck out 90 batters while walking only 21, proving how impressive he is with his control.

Baseball’s Best Looks For Win No. 76

The offense has been led by Cody Bellinger, who belted a three-run shot last night to bring his total on the year to 37. He has knocked in 88 runs and is batting .325 on the year, dead-locked with Christian Yelich in the NL MVP race. Max Muncy has also been exceptional with 27 home runs and 74 RBI. Youngsters Will Smith and Matt Beaty have both been producing for the Dodgers, proving to be an integral part of the success, trying to lead them to more victories.

Clayton Kershaw will take the mound for his 20th start of the year. He has posted a 10-2 record with a 2.85 ERA in 123 innings of work. Kershaw has struck out 122 batters while walking 27.

Dodgers Keep It Rolling

Make sure you put your money on the Dodgers tonight, folks, as Kershaw stays hot. This team is untouchable at home.
