Some of baseball’s brightest stars are set to take the field in the highly anticipated exhibition game. The National League will be trying to end a five game losing streak to the American League on Tuesday night.

Both the National League and American League have 43 All-Star Game victories, along with two ties. Max Scherzer is set to make the start for the National League in front of his hometown crowd. Sluggers Make Up AL Lineup

The American League lineup is full of sluggers who are capable of hitting a homerun on every pitch. Mookie Betts will bat leadoff for the AL squad, and reigning MVP, Jose Altuve will bat second. The middle of the lineup features Mike Trout, JD Martinez, Aaron Judge, and Manny Machado. The National League pitching staff will have to find a way to navigate through that lineup.

Luis Severino will be the next pitcher for the American League. Severino is having a terrific season for the New York Yankees and will be rewarded with an All-Star Game appearance. The Houston Astros have a total of six All-Stars which is the most from any team in baseball.

Surprising Stars Start For NL

The National League roster is full of surprising players from some of the most surprising teams in baseball. Both the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs landed two players in the starting lineup for the National League. Cubs second baseman, Javier Baez, will lead off for the National League, and catcher Willson Contreras will bat 9th. Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis will represent the Braves in the National League lineup.

The strength of the National League roster might be in their deep bullpen. Two members of the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen, Jeremy Jeffress and Josh Hader, will be ready to come into the game for the NL. They are joined by Padres closer, Brad Hand, and Dodgers stud closer, Kenley Jansen. If the NL can get an early lead, the bullpen should be able to close the door for them.

NL Wins, Ends Losing Streak

This is just an exhibition game, but there is a lot of pride on the line for these players. The American League has dominated the series of late, but the overall series is dead even. The AL lineup is loaded with sluggers, but they will be facing the National League’s top pitchers all night.

The National League has a deep pitching staff, and have a lot of young players ready to prove themselves. Look for Javier Baez to do something special leading off for the NL, and hometown hero, Bryce Harper to win All-Star Game MVP. Bet the National League +110 over the American League on Tuesday night.
