Milwaukee Brewers at Houston Astros Betting Pick

Old National League rivals will meet up for a three-game interleague series in Houston. The Astros will host the Milwaukee Brewers for a series beginning on Tuesday night, and the series features a pair of division leaders squaring off. Milwaukee has been just average on the road this season while the Houston Astros have been almost unbeatable at home.

The Houston Astros come into this game playing great baseball, having won 10 of their last 13 games. Houston sits in first place atop the AL West Division with a record of 45-22. Milwaukee should have plenty of confidence as well as they have won four straight games. The Brewers are a half-game ahead of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central with a record of 38-28. The Houston Astros are -148 over the Milwaukee Brewers in the series opener.

Yelich Doing It All For Brewers

Christian Yelich was the National League Most Valuable Player a season ago, and he might be playing even better this year. Yelich leads the team with 24 home runs and 53 runs batted in and is also getting on base at a .443 clip. Second baseman Mike Moustakas has been great this season as well, chipping in with 20 long balls. The Brewers can mash with the best of them.

The Brewers have a pair of starters who have been pitching extremely well for them, but they won’t be on the mound in this game. Freddy Peralta will make the start, and things haven’t been going well for him of late. Peralta is just 3-2 with a 5.11 earned run average this season and will be facing a great lineup in this game. The Brewers better give him plenty of run support.

Astros Have Plenty of Talent

The Houston Astros are starting to get healthy again, and that is a scary proposition for the rest of the American League. Third baseman Alex Bregman might just be emerging as the best player on the Astros. Bregman leads the team with 18 homers, and 44 runs batted in and loves hitting in Houston. The Astros have already hit 106 home runs this season, and their ballpark is made for this team. Leadoff man George Springer is right behind Bregman with 17 home runs and 43 runs batted in. The Astros should have a big night against Peralta.

Brad Peacock will make the start for the Astros on Tuesday night, and he has really turned his career around in Houston. Peacock has rejoined the starting rotation and has gone 5-3 with a 3.20 earned run average this season. The Astros also feature a terrific bullpen with closer Roberto Osuna already picking up 17 saves this season. Getting Christian Yelich out will be a big key for the Astros pitching staff.

Houston Wins Series Opener

Expect plenty of runs scored this week in Houston as some of the most talented players in baseball will be on the field. Minute Maid Park is a great hitters park, and there will be plenty of homers hit. The Houston Astros have a much deeper lineup than the Milwaukee Brewers, and that will push them over the edge in the series opener. Bet the Houston Astros -148 over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night.
