There are a number of different players on this offense who have been playing sensationally of late. Michael Brantley has 11 HR’s, 44 RBI’s, and is leading the team with a .312 average. Jose Ramirez had hit 23 HR’s and driven in 52 runs. Francisco Lindor has hit 19 HR’s and driven in 44 runs. The Indians have a +61 run differential and have been dominant of late. This is not a team to be messed with, as they have continued to rise up the rankings.
They will send Trevor Bauer to the mound for his seventeenth start of 2018. He has been sensational thus far this year, going 7-5 with a 2.44 ERA. He has struck out 140 batters while walking 35 in 107 innings of work. In his last start, he allowed one run on five hits in six and a third innings, while striking out 11.
Oakland Athletics
Two words: JED LOWRIE. The shortstop has been amazing for Oakland this year, as he’s gone deep 13 times, driven in 55 runs, and has a team-high 94 hits, to go with a .294 average. It has been a career year for Lowrie, who’s stock has risen in the past few years. Khris Davis, though he is not hitting for a great average, has re-discovered his power, launching 20 long balls this year. The A’s have a +13-run differential, and have been a very tough win for their opponents. Watch out, they could squeak in to the wild card race.
They will send Paul Blackburn to the mound for his fifth start of the year. He has not been very good in his first four appearances, allowing 17 runs in 17 innings of work, good for an 8.83 ERA. This is a good chance for him to bounce back, and see if he can have a good start.
Indians win, destroy Blackburn
A good night for the Indians, they will improve to ten games over .500 with this W tonight. With Trevor Bauer on the mound, it is a certain that the A’s will struggle to make contact, and will not be able to get it done.
The Indians offense is going to be feasting off of Paul Blackburn, who does not excel at limiting runs. A long ball from Jose Ramirez will help to get the offense going. When push comes to shove in this game, we are taking the Cleveland Indians and that offense. Bet on the Indians -175.
