Since February of this year, RealGaming.com has been in the ‘soft launch’ period of testing in the state of Nevada for online poker gaming. The site was launched by South Point and had to undergo almost 8 months of testing before being allowed to fully launch late last week. Players have the option of enjoying cash games and tournaments with Real Gaming on several platforms such as tablets, smartphones and computers.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Gaming Control Board of Nevada met in Carson City to discuss Real Gaming’s status. The board decided to recommend the removal of the test period tag which was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission. Speaking with the Control Board, a technology expert for Real Gaming as well as CEO, Lawrence Vaughan, stated that the company had not had any issues with player verification. The company has been successful in locating players within in the state to meet the requirements for game play.
According to Vaughan, the live poker operations of South Point have not been affected in ways of growth, as the company hoped to focus on the existing customers at the beginning of the launch. Now that the site has seen the soft launch come to an end, the site will be able to extend the campaign to market their offerings.
Real Gaming also made changes just last month for deposit options to the site. Players can use 7-Eleven and Family Dollar stores in the state to make deposits for online poker accounts. To do so, players have to print a payment barcode or use a mobile device to produce the code from the Real Gaming site and then use the code to make the deposit.
With the full launch of Real Gaming, the state of Nevada now has three fully functioning online poker sites. Real Gaming joins WSOP and Ultimate Poker in the state to offer such gaming options.
