Ramon Colillas Is The Newest Team Member of PokerStars

Ramon Colillas managed to impress the poker community in a very short period as he became a superstar after winning the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship that took place in the Bahamas back in January. Colillas was not a famous person before that. In fact, he was relatively unknown to the poker community, but all that changed after he won the main prize and ended up with $5.1 million in his pocket.

Before winning the Bahamas’ tournament, Colillas was an online poker player as well as a live grinder who lives in Spain, but as of a couple of days ago, Ramon Colillas is an official face of PokerStars.

He stated in a PokerStars article that he had fulfilled another dream of his. He stated that he couldn’t have asked for more as he was already the champion of Spain and the champion of the PSPC. He even became a representative of the most popular poker room in the world, and that was a dream come true for him.

How Colillas Got Into Poker?

Just like many other poker players of his age, Ramon Colillas was simply amazed by the way Chris Moneymaker was playing poker. He watched Moneymaker on TV when he was young and decided to follow his dream and become a poker player. A twist of faith has now made Colillas sit side by side with Chris Moneymaker as they are both now PokerStars representatives.

There is even an interesting story about the two players which Colillas published on Twitter, stating that he was really proud when Chris Moneymaker approached him and asked to call him Ramon Moneymaker. What could a poker fan possibly wish for more than that?

Colillas added that he was honored to join the players such as Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, and other members of the Team PokerStars as he had been an admirer of theirs for a very long time.

What Does the Future Bring for Colillas?

The first thing to do after the CEP stop is to go to the European Poker Tour and take part in two events which will happen in Sochi and in Monte Carlo. Furthermore, Colillas will have an opportunity to play in his home country as he is also going to take part in the EPT Open in Madrid. After that, he will go to the city that never sleeps, and take part in WSOP Las Vegas, after which he will return to Barcelona to continue his EPT in August.

He stated that he would definitely feel a bit under pressure due to the fact that other players in the table would be aware of who he was. However, Colillas added that this fact would motivate him to learn how to adapt to various situations on the table. Finally, he added that playing poker was not all about the game and winning titles, but that it is also about traveling, experiencing different cultures and people, and creating memories of a lifetime.
