After announcing they would be offering a second Sunday Million Anniversary event back in March, PokerStars has been successful in their endeavors. On April 22nd and 23rd, the online poker room offered a Sunday Million Anniversary Take 2 event, providing players $10 million in guaranteed prize money with a low buy-in of just $215. The event was a success with 56,310 players competing, creating an overall prize pool of $11,262,000!
Day 2 of the event would see 735 players returning online to compete for their share of the gigantic prize pool. Everyone was guaranteed a prize, with more than one million dollars awaiting the winner. Players would be eliminated one by one until the nine player table was created. Each player was guaranteed a minimum five figure payday, but everyone wanted that first place haul.
In the end it would be Rick Trigg and online player Daenarys T who faced off in heads-up play. The two decided to review the numbers and consider a deal, but no deal would be made. Trigg would have a 2 to 1 chip lead going in but Daenarys T was not ready to give up just yet.
After taking the lead, the final hand would go down with Daenarys T opening from the button with A-6 of hearts. Trigg would call with J-10 off-suit. A-10-8 would appear on the flop with both players betting yet again. A 3 on the turn saw a check call from Trigg and a 2 on the river saw Daenarys T move all-in. Trigg decided to call but would lose the hand with the smaller pair. Daenarys T would earn a huge payday, the biggest he has ever recorded, with the win!
