PokerStars Launches First Ever Casino Games

french-blackjackAfter the acquisition of PokerStars by Amaya Gaming, it was announced that the online poker giant would soon begin to focus on casino gaming as well. Casino gaming was to be added in the near future, and that time is now. The Spanish version of PokerStars now offers real money casino games including various forms of blackjack and roulette. Players will find several formats of game play including varying stakes and single/multi player options.

PokerStars is also expected to launch the casino games in the Italian market as well, yet confirmation has not been made as to if PokerStars will offer the casino gaming for free play and real money at the dot-com site, according to Pokerfuse.

Players can find the games under the Casino tab that was just added to the online poker client in the lobby area. The games can only be accessed in PokerStars 7 which is available in most markets and the default setting in Spain.

As far as the dot-com site is concerned, Full Tilt is the only brand currently offering casino games including slots, blackjack and roulette. Live dealer games have also been added recently and are available for casino game play. So for now, Spain and Italy are the only markets to have added casino games from PokerStars and stated that an even ‘wider rollout’ is planned for next year.

The new launch of real money casino games should be a sign of what is to come in the United States when PokerStars goes live in New Jersey. The brand is set to begin offering online gaming in New Jersey in the near future and would be offering poker and casino gaming online. It will be interesting to see if they begin with strictly online poker gaming or if they will be fully ready to offer a variety of online gaming options including casino.
