It was one of those days when simply everything goes well for you. Sheils was probably aware of the lucky charm that was cast over his destiny and did not show signs of stopping during the final day. In fact, the pressed and played as much as he can in order to get to the final trophy and a nice sum of money.
It was a fast and action-packed last day of the tournament, certainly exciting for every lover of brilliant poker plays. The first one to go home was Hutchinson who had an ace-five against pocket jacks. The battle continued and the final three went on a break. Upon their return, the fast-paced game continued although the stacks very pretty deep.
Liffey’s exit was pretty cruel and he was out with a sum of £75,000. It happened when Sheils managed to hit a set on the river. He had pocket threes and Liffey went all in with a king-queen in his hand. The flop showed a lead for Liffey as he managed to have a pair of queens. However, the river revealed another three which meant that Sheils created a three of a kind that beat the pair of queens Liffey had.
The heads-up battle between Sheils and the player from Albania named Artur Gjoka was also very intense, interesting, and short-lived. Sheils has and 8-1 chip lead, and it was pretty much expected for him to take this win. The final hand was also filled with great play, and it started with Gjoka calling with a queen-eight. The flop showed six, seven, and eight which gave Gjoka a top pair.
However, Sheils managed to make a straight as he had a five and a four in his hands. Gjoka decided to move all in and hit into a wall that Sheils created with his straight. Gjoka was then sent to the rails with a sum of £112,000.
