The World Series of Poker Europe is currently underway in King’s Casino in the Czech Republic, and only a couple of events are left before it concludes. The Main Event is also underway at the moment, and while we wait for the winner, €100,000 LEON’s High Roller concluded and Ivan Leow emerged a winner. The buy-in for the event was €100,000, and 33 entries created an enormous prize pool. The name LEON in the event is because Leon Tsoukernik was the host of this high roller competition.
The Triton poker players were a bit desperate before this event as none of them managed to run deep in the previous events of WSOPE 2018. However, hope did not go away and Leow managed to turn things around by winning a hefty sum that has seven figures – something that is not often seen. This is definitely the highest cash from a live tournament that Leow has ever won. However, he is not new to seven-figure sums as his resume is already over $4 million in tournament earnings.

Support Was Strong
Leow had a huge support on the rail during the tournament as many Triton poker players were there to support him. In fact, his rail was the largest for the biggest part of the tournament and only seemed to grow larger as Leow was progressing through the event. Once he won, he celebrated with his friends whose support definitely affected Leow’s play for the better.
Change of Plans
The original plan was to have 60-minute levels, but this structure needed to be revamped as only two players managed to register for playing at the starting time. The officials of the casino, including Leon Tsoukernik himself (who is the casino owner), shortened the levels to 30-minute play and erased the first three levels. Soon, the first five players were seated and started playing this high-roller tournament. Soon the second and the third table started, and the things were going well. Some of the poker players that signed up for this event but failed early are David Peters, Timothy Adams, Matt Kirk, Adrian Mateos, Stefan Schillhabel, Ole Schemion, Matthis Eibinger, and Mikita Badziakouski.
Very soon, the final table that counted nine players was reached. At the beginning of the final table play, Martin Kabrhel had the biggest chip lead, followed by Sam Trickett. However, the game of poker is unpredictable and Trickett had to leave the game rather early.
The heads-up play was Kabrhel, who was on a home ground, and Ivan Leow. Leow was slowly piling up the chips, and when he faced Kabrhel, he was only slightly behind him. Only two hands into play both of them went all in. Leow had king-jack in his hand, while Kabrhel had ace-nine. The flow worked in Leow’s favour and helped him make a pair of jacks. The turn was another jack, with which Leow cemented his victory and Kabrhel had to settle for the second place.
