ESPN and Poker Central Announce WSOP Broadcast Info

World Series of Poker

Unfortunately, not every poker player can attend the World Series of Poker. From scheduling conflicts to having enough buy-in money, most players can only dream of competing. Yet there is a way that poker players can still be involved, with broadcasts provided by ESPN and Poker Central. Both entities provided initial information yesterday on how the WSOP will be covered and aired. The Main Event of the WSOP will have everyday coverage provided from July 2nd until the 14th. ESPN will also be broadcasting the Big One for One Drop No Limit Hold’em High Roller event.

On top of ESPN coverage, fans of the WSOP will also be able to watch gaming via PokerGO. Exclusive coverage that is not shown by ESPN will be provided via a streaming schedule at PokerGO. This schedule will be provided in the future.

This year, ESPN plans on broadcasting a minimum of 40 hours of live coverage during the WSOP on television. Coverage will be spread between ESPN2 and ESPN channels. Per gaming regulations, there will be a 30-minute delay during streaming as hole cards are shown.

Poker Central Chief Digital Officer JR McCabe commented in a press release on the matter by stating that in 2017, ESPN viewership and PokerGO subscription numbers were strong throughout the Main Event of the WSOP. For 2018, both are planning to double down on live coverage by adding the Big One for One Drop and bringing more to live poker to fans across the world.

Comprehensive broadcasting from ESPN for the World Series of Poker will continue through the year 2020. A full list of broadcasting times can be viewed here, within the initial press release from Poker Central. PokerGO broadcast information should be provided in the near future for those who wish to watch WSOP footage via the digital video subscription service.
