Bonomo Enters Day 3 on Top of The Leaderboard

Justin Bonomo

2018 Super High Roller Bowl Day 2 is concluded and the leaderboard currently looks really interesting. There are 14 remaining players for the third day and Justin Bonomo is currently sitting on top of the leaderboard, with Negreanu being in the second position.

The second day started in the PokerGO Studio which can be found just next to the ARIA Resort & Casino and the 30 remaining players continued to battle on for the first prize. The starting number was 48, but there have been 18 dropped off by the end of the first day.

One of the surprises for the second day was Rainer Kempe, a former champion, who was the first to get eliminated unable to hit straight and flush draw. Not long after him, two of the German players, Arne Ruge and Koray Aldemir, also left the tournament, unable to keep up the pace of the game and being out of luck and strategy.

After the first break, Cary Katz failed to remain in the game as his cards were a far cry from standing up to the rivered straight that Kahle Burns got. The similar thing happened to Phil Ivey, who was sort of a host here as the tournament was played in his home country. Phil flopped a straight and got all in just to find out that Bryn Kenney had a full house.

One of the most interesting standoffs was between the current leader Justin Bonomo and Fedor Holz which resulted in Holz’s elimination. At that point, Bonomo held approximately 20% of the chips and there were 19 players remaining in play. Bonomo had his ups and downs after he eliminated Holz, but managed to stay on top at the end of the second day, with a total of 2,144,000 in chips.

The conclusion of the Day 2 saw Stephen Chidwick do his best, and slowly going up the leaderboard, only to finish right behind Bonomo, with the number in chips being 1,983,000. He is followed by Seth Davies who had 1,754,000 in chips and Christoph Vogelsang, a defending champion, who had 1,717,000. The winner of the first day, Daniel Negreanu, finished his second day behind Vogelsang with 1,515,000.

The Day 3 will see the elimination of 8 more people before the Final table of six can begin and before they are given a chance to win the highest prize – $5,000,000. The final 6 will play on the fourth day and this is the day in which one would take it all. The winner will be given the title of the champion of 2018 Super High Roller Bowl.

The situation is already more than interesting as Negreanu, who previously stated that he plans to win the tournament did not do as well as the previous day. However, Poker is a game where anything can happen, and everything is possible on the days 3 and 4.
