We are excited for the second stage of the triple crown in horse racing. It will take place this weekend, at the Preakness Stakes. At Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, the race will be shown live on NBC. A couple weeks ago at the Kentucky Derby, Always Dreaming came away with the title. 1/1 — Always Dreaming:

Trying to get to 66% of the Triple Crown, the John Velazquez/Todd Pletcher combination will continue to try to run hot in this one. Always Dreaming took advantage of a pretty sloppy track in Louisville. Always Dreaming has great closing speed and will make other horses regret pacing behind. Always Dreaming comes in at 1/1 odds to win the Preakness.

4/1 — Classic Empire

With the pedigree of Pioneer of the Nile – Sambuca Classic, by Cat Thief, Classic Empire is second in the odds to win the Preakness. In 8 starts, Classic Empire has 5 wins and a third place finish. Classic Empire is a horse that needs to improve out of the gate. If you see Classic Empire up at the front of the pack early in the race, you can bet it will be there in the end. Classic Empire is 4/1 odds.

12/1 — Gunnervera

One of the returning horses from the Kentucky Derby; Gunnervera will look to take down the two big dogs at the top. The horse is trained by Antonio Sano and also owned by Peacock Racing Stables. Gunnervera has raced in 4 big races and made nearly $2M. If the track is dry, Gunnervera will have a decent chance. Gunnervera is listed at 12/1 odds.

12/1 — Hence

Hence finished 11th in the Kentucky Derby. Just a couple weeks ago, Hence won the Sunland Derby. The Florent Geoux and Steve Asmussen have this horse trained to win a big event. If this is it, we will find out this weekend at the Preakness. Hence is listed at 12/1 odds.

11/1 — Looking at Lee

After a second place finish at the Kentucky Derby, this horse is nearing the $1M mark in career winnings. In several starts, Looking at Lee has 2 wins, and numerous other Top 3 finishes. Looking at Lee is listed at 11/1 to win the Preakness.
