Amateur Adam Gerber Wins U.S. Poker Championship
October 8, 2007
There is a new champion of the 2007 US Poker Championship, which was held at the famous Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. The name is Adam Gerber and this Philadelphia resident is a poker amateur but walked out like a poker pro.Gerber took home a brand new Rolex watch, a gold bracelet, and best of all, the $606,095 first place prize.
In wondering what he might do with all his cash winnings, Gerber stated to PokerListings during an interview that he might redo his backyard or put in a deck. Gerber is also planning on donating a part of his winnings to charity.
The final table of this event has always brought in big names such as Alex Jacob, Daniel Negreanu, Hoyt Corkins, and John Juanda. But this year’s event seemed to lack the big names but that possibly could help in bringing out some new fresh names and allow them their turn in the spotlight.
