WSOP.com Signs First Brand Ambassador

The World Series of poker is doing well online in the United States with gaming options in both Nevada and New Jersey, providing quality tournaments and cash gaming options. The site was up in revenues thanks to the World Series of Poker live events in previous months and should do well again when the main event of the WSOP takes place this November. In the meantime, it has been rumored that 2012 Main Event champion Greg Merson was working with WSOP as he was seen wearing the site’s patch during live game play. Rumors have been circulating for months and now, Merson has confirmed he is the new Brand Ambassador for the site, a first for the company.

Merson was working with Ivey Poker but left Phil’s group and was then seen wearing WSOP.com gear. The pro spoke with PokerNews and revealed that he has signed officially with the company to represent them during live and online game play. Merson stated that WSOP is an exclusive brand in the poker industry and he feels honored to help them promote online poker back to full potential.

The WSOP is also happy to be working with Merson. Bill Rini, the Head of Online Poker at WSOP.com, stated that Greg is a ‘terrific ambassador’ for the game and he will be helping them spread the word about WSOP offerings and help the poker community experience what WSOP.com has to offer.

The announcement of Merson’s ambassadorship comes at the same time as the WSOP gets ready to promote their one-year anniversary. The company first launched in 2013 on September 19th and now has reached the accomplishment of one year in operation. WSOP.com has done well with over 100,000 accounts created and players continue to take advantage of what the brand has to offer in online game play.
