The news of PokerStars coming to New Jersey has now gone from a poker rumor to a tease. Senator Ray Lesniak is ready for PokerStars to enter the US gaming market and tweeted yesterday a little tease that has everyone wondering when the poker giant will be available in the state.
On Twitter yesterday, Lesniak tweeted:
“@PokerStars launch will spark an AC revival. Stay tuned for a major announcement.”
What does this mean? Is PokerStars going to offer something more than just gaming in the state of New Jersey? Lesniak stated later that in the coming weeks an announcement will be made that will involve both PokerStars as well as Atlantic City. The State Senator commented that the announcement will be huge, bigger than imagined. In his comments, according to PokerListings, the Senator implied that PokerStars would offer gaming to US residents, allowing players to compete at the top poker site against players from around the world.
A lot has been going on with PokerStars in the state of New Jersey as well as the US. Just recently, we reported that PokerStars was working on trademarks of logos and terms in the United States. These terms included Zoom Poker, PCA and We Are Poker. PokerStars also hosted an Open House for former customers in New Jersey at the Hyatt Regency Hotel just a few days ago. PokerStars has not made an official announcement yet, but Lesniak thinks it is inevitable that the poker company will be back in action soon.
On Twitter, Lesniak continued to post info about PokerStars and was questioned by other Twitter members. When asked about if New Jersey would open up a player pool to Europe he said ‘Soon, stay tuned for that also’. When asked how long we should stay tuned to for the PokerStars announcement, Lesniak responded, ‘not long, weeks not months’. So over the coming weeks, we shall see if PokerStars is going to be launching in New Jersey and just what they will be offering.
