PokerStars Launches Zoom Poker in Tournament Format

Zoom Poker is a poker variant that is of the fast-fold variety and has been available for many months now. Players have taken advantage of this fast-fold option so that they can play a few quick games without having to wait for other players to fold their cards. This option has only been available to cash game players but now, with the New Year, comes the ability to play the option in tournament action.

Zoom Poker tournaments was added to the tourney lobby of Zoom Poker quietly on December 31st. the option is only in Beta mode but once any problems have been cleared away, the option will be able to launch in full form. The option is currently only available at the Micro-stakes tables and will start every two hours on the 7. PokerStars is also currently testing several game types to see what works best including:

No Limit Hold’em

Pot Limit Omaha

Turbo

Knockout

Short-handed games

Zoom Poker first started in March of last year and was virtually a copy of Rush Poker, which is a fast-fold option at Full Tilt Poker before they shut down. Players have the ability to fold their hand as soon as it is dealt and instantly take part in another hand. Players will leave their current table and be taken to a new table to begin a new hand. The process continues so players can fit in more hands than in normal play.

With the launch of Zoom poker tournaments, players will now have the option of enjoying a fast poker tournament. Many poker players want to enjoy tournament play but do not have hours to compete. Zoom poker tournaments gives players a quick option that can be enjoyed during downtime, the lunch hour or virtually any time!
