Over the past few days several reports have been released on the subject of the trial of Bianca Rojas-Traverse, the ex girlfriend of poker pro Jonathan Duhamel. Rojas-Traverse was on trial for several charges stemming from a brutal assault and robbery against Duhamel last year. Rojas-Traverse has now pled guilty to the charges she faced and managed to show off in the process.
The Toronto Star covered the trial and they reported that she seemed to be a little off as she entered the court room as well as left the room. The report states:
She entered with a wink and left blowing kisses.
“It was tough to tell from Bianca Rojas-Latraverse’s girly gestures that the ex-girlfriend of Canadian poker champ Jonathan Duhamel is destined for a lengthy stay in prison.
“The preppy 21-year-old brunette wore a white linen blouse with a khaki raincoat draped over her handcuffed wrists for the half-hour appearance that sealed her fate.”
Rojas-Traverse pled guilty to conspiracy, kidnapping and theft and did not give a statement while she was in court. She will have to report back to court in December to be sentenced by the presiding judge in the case.
Sarah Desabrais, the lawyer for Rojas-Latraverse, stated that her client pled guilty for the right reasons. Desabrais stated she did so to ‘free her conscience, move onto other things puts this behind her as quickly as possible, because she’s still young.”
Despite the horrific incident, Duhamel seems to be doing quite well. The 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure was a great success for the pro and he is still in the WCOOP Main Event for day 2. The pro has bounced back from the horrible event and it seems as though justice is being served in this case.
