Poker Pro goes to Trial for Parents Murder

Professional Poker Player Ernest Scherer III will stand trial for the murder of his own parents 
last year. Authorities have charged Scherer with the murder of both his mother and his father, pretty much for their home and possessions.
The elderly couple was slaughtered in what appeared to police to be a ‘staged burglary’. Scherer allegedly drove to the home of Ernest Jr. and his mother Charlene Abendroth, beat and stabbed them, and then drove to his own home in Orange County California.
Scherer is up on two counts of murder and murder for financial gain. The poker player is eligible to be put to death in the state of California.
Scherer will be arraigned on September 4th.
