Poker Players Alliance Expected to Storm Capitol Hill

We all know the pain, inconvenience, stress, and revenue loss that the United States caused when it outlawed online gambling last year. This new bill has affected not only the online gaming operations that had the U.S. as a primary market for their income, but for United States citizens who make a living off online poker. Now, everyone is worried that they will end up in trouble. While it may seem that since a year has passed and nothing has changed for the better (in the eyes of the online gambling supporters), that nothing will change. But that is not stopping the nearly 100 members of the Poker Players Alliance who are expected to storm onto Capitol Hill in hopes to urge lawmakers not to outlaw online poker playing.
Although Congress passed the anti-Internet gambling measure last year, the federal regulators are still trying to iron out the details of the rules to which the law should reflect.
The alliance is led by former Senator Al D’Amato, R-N.Y. This alliance claims about 800,000 members and hopefully this strong force can make a difference in the anti-gambling bill.
It is planned that a speech about their game is one that requires skill and not mere luck. This is cause for it to be legally allowed to be played on the Internet.
It will prove interesting to hear further updates on how the alliance does. Surely, they will be able to make themselves heard.
