According to his blog, though Doyle Brunson he likes Patrick Antonius (known online as FinddaGrind), and thinks he’s a great player, Patrick ‘cast the gauntlet, and Doyle is “Prepared to do battle.”Antonious told CardPlayer Magazine last month that he would play Doyle Brunson, known as the Texas Dolly, and a poker world great in any game of poker, for any amount. Antonius says he was responding to a rumor, someone told Antonius that Brunson said he would swim a river to play him. Doyle denys the comment, saying that he may have said something similar, about poker players in general, but that he did not single out Antonius.
The two have played together in tournament events, including a WPT event in which Patrick Antonious pushed all in over the top of Doyle’s limp in, Patrick sitting on acey duecy.. Doyle makes the 4 million dollar call with pocket three’s, Doyle’s pair turns into a boat.
Antonius was in disbelief, he asks Brunson “How can you make that call?” Doyle responded, “How you can you make that bet, we’re playin’ poker, not solitaire.”
