Online poker room, Party Poker, announced just a few days ago that they would be making changes to their VIP program. The changes now appear to be the removal of the Higher Palladium VIP levels. The site has apparently been quiet on the subject but Palladium Elite VIP levels will soon be no more at the site.
Party Poker had made the announcement initially on their website’s VIP page but placed the announcement at the bottom of the page. Doing this kept most players from reading the information about the changes. Once players began to catch on the changes, a Party Poker representative took to the Two Plus Two online poker forums to explain.
The representative of Party Poker stated:
“As you have already heard we have taken the decision to remove the Palladium Elite status from our loyalty scheme and remove all bonuses that pay greater than 30% effective rakeback. We believe the change will allow us to manage our poker room more effectively and ultimately allow for fairer distribution of bonuses across the network – this change will be implemented on as of the start of April 2013 onwards NOTE: players that are Palladium Elite will be able purchase Palladium Elite bonuses for the duration of quarter one (January 1st 2013 – March 31st 2013). Players will also be able to achieve the status in quarter one and purchase Palladium Elite bonuses. If you have any questions regarding the change or your account please contact customer support.”
The site has only five VIP levels, two of which are Palladium with three Palladium Elite options. players have to earn a certain amount of points to reach these levels each month and anyone who reaches these levels will be able to redeem the points they earn for cash or bonuses. Once April 1st arrives, the PalladiumElite option will cease to exist. The site will be left with only Palladium options and some of the features available on Elite will roll to Palladium.
