Pala Interactive launched an online poker platform in New Jersey a few months ago, a group that represents the online gaming interests of the Pala Band of Mission Indians, owners and operators of a casino in California. PalaPoker has been in the beta testing phase for several months and now has officially dropped beta status and is providing their full offering in the state.
The news was announced last week via Pala Interactive with Mike O’Malley, the Chief Operating Officer, stating that the online poker room is ready to move forward. According to O’Malley, the company still has ‘a robust roadmap of features and functionality to add’ and they are encouraged by the stability and performance of the platform to move forward from beta.
Pala Interactive first entered the online gaming market of New Jersey with their online casino gaming product, which launched towards the end of 2014. However, poker took some time to launch, with the beta testing phase first beginning this past June.
Pala Interactive partnered with the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City to be able to begin offering online gaming options. Online providers must be partnered with a land-based venue before they will be approved for licensing. While Pala is working with Borgata, with BorgataPoker, playMGM and partypoker associated under the brand’s umbrella, they are a standalone poker network. The online poker site of Pala does not share software or players with the other sites associated within the Borgata network.
PalaPoker provides their own proprietary platform and offers their online poker gaming options via PC and Mac. Now that Pala is fully functioning, the state has seven poker rooms spread across four networks. Online casino revenues continue to be on an upward trend for New Jersey each and every month, while poker continues to spiral downwards. It may be hard for Pala to see strong traffic flow for some time, at least until interstate gaming beings with Delaware and Nevada. Pennsylvania is set to offer online gaming by next year, which will provide yet another partner for the state.
