Online Poker Invading on Land Based Casinos

It’s here folks! Online Poker is making it’s way into land based casinos. Commerce Casino, located in Commerce, near downtown Las Angeles California is planning to offer poker players new Sit N Go styled poker tournaments. These aren’t your every day poker tournaments though, there is no live dealer.

Lightening Dealerless Poker Table

That’s right, the game is held without a dealer, as soon as the table is full, and all sit n go players have bought in, the cards will automatically be dealt, and the game will begin.

Tim Gustin, Commerce Casino’s Manager says the two new “Lightning Poker Tables” have been installed in the poker room since July of this year. The game is tracked via a computer processor, and automatically shuffles cards, deals with and distributes poker chips, shuffles and deals. All via a screen, there are no cards, there is no deck, there are no chips. It’s online poker, in a casino.

The main difference is that players are able to see and speak to each other, leaving the land based casino poker ‘tell’ option, but taking away many of the historical aspects of a game as old as the west.
