Poker players in the state of New Jersey have had the option of competing in online poker game play for some time, with cash gaming and tournament options offered by the online poker sites within the state. The Party Poker New Jersey Site offers such gaming and has now decided to privode a special tournament option not once but twice before the year is through.
The site normally offers a Sunday Major that has a buy-in of $200 and will feature a prize pool of $50,000 guaranteed. On the 30th of November and the 28th of December, the sites will offer the same buy-in for the Sunday Major but have double the guarantee, at $100,000. With the guarantees, the winner will automatically earn at least $20,000 which is a substantial prize for the New Jersey gamers.
Based on a report at PartTimePoker, Party Poker plans on offering the guaranteed poker tournaments once a month with the $100,000 prize beginning next year. With such a high guarantee, it would not be surprising to see the tournament push past the $100,000 mark from time to time as players try their hand at the tournament option.
At the Party Poker NJ website, the November event is being promoted as part of the 1 Year Anniversary of the site. Players will have the opportunity to compete in a $25,000 Pro Bounty Multiplier which will be offered during the special edition of the Sunday tournament. Party says that ‘some familiar faces’ will have $100 cash targets on their heads and players who knock out more than one will earn a great deal of cash, as much as $25,000.
Knock out one pro earn $100, 2 pros earns $1,000, three pros pays $10,000 and four will pay $25,000. On the 24th of the month, the site will be providing a full list of the pros who will be participating during the November 30th event.
The online poker site is trying to generate traffic and by hosting such a large event in November and December, it would not be surprising to see the number of gamers increase significantly at both sites.
