Minnesotan Pushing for Online Gaming

DE gamblingIn every state across the US there are varying opinions when it comes to poker in any form. If you were to take a trip from one end of the country to the other, you would find that your options to play are very different. In one state you may have access to online and land based poker like in New Jersey or you may have the option to play just casino based poker such as what Pennsylvania or Mississippi provide. In every state you have proponents and opponents and in the state of Minnesota, one proponent is trying to get the ball rolling with online gaming.

According to a report at AnteUpMagazine, Mike Qualley is currently working to see online poker options in the state in 2015. Qualley was recently named the Director of the Minnesota chapter of the Poker Players Alliance and has set lofty goals. Qualley said he wants to see legislation come forward in 2015 that will allow regulated online poker in the state.

Qualley worked in the entertainment industry for two decades and during that time found that online poker was a great way to relax after his busy work day. When Black Friday took place, he was of course unable to log online and play poker. When this happened, Qualley began to become active with the Poker Player Alliance.

With his new role with the PPA, Qualley has now started a new Facebook page title Minnesotans for Online Poker. On the Facebook page, visitors will see an action plan for poker as well as news relative to the cause. Qualley is also working with Running Aces, a local race track, to feature the PPA during a poker tournament each month so members can meet and take part in a poker tournament together. The first event took place back in July and was a success with over 170 players competing.
