Million Dollar Challenge’s 1st Winner – Pastor Andrew Trapp

The PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge is the newest poker game show on television and it airs on Fox.  Audiences and contestants alike were surprised yesterday when a priest from South Carolina, Andrew Trapp took out Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso, NBA Champ John Salley and lastly Daniel Negreanu to win $100,000 dollars and the chance to come back in December to compete for the $1,000,000 dollar grand prize.

Andrew Trapp is also known as ‘Father Rambo’ for his skills at playing paintball.  He let everyone know on Sunday that he’s also very skilled in playing poker in poker.  During a large hand up against Salley he took out his rosary beads and  won the hand taking and Salley out of the game.

What did he do with his new found wealth?  Donated it of course.  Trapp donated all of his winnings to the St. Michael’s Church in Garden City, South Carolina, where he serves as an associate pastor.  He hopes to win the $1 million dollar prize in December to help St. Michael’s build a new church.  The church is currently $1.5 million dollars short of their goal.

The next episode of the Poker Stars Million Dollar Challenge will air on Sunday, October 18th at 4:30 EST or 1:30 PST after the NFL on Fox.  After that look for the Poker Stars Million Dollar Challenge on November 22, December 13 and the heads up finale against Negreanu for $1,000,000 dollars on December 27th.
