The claims administrator over the Absolute Poker and UltimateBet remissions process, the Garden City Group, recently announced an update on the matter. The deadline for claims submissions to be presented has now passed and petitions that were filed in time are going to be reviewed. Once the review process is complete, the Garden City Group will then look at disputed claims.
The website that provides information on this process is absolutepokerclaims.com. Here, former members of Absolute Poker and UltimateBet were able to fill out a form in order to receive funds based on a previous balance of their gaming account.
At the site, the GCG posted an update which stated that the Petitions for Remission process deadline was the 7th of September. The claims administrator is currently reviewing petitions filed before the deadline by those who were able to confirm their last known account balance at Absolute Poker and/or UltimateBet.
After these petitions are reviewed, the Garden City Group will then begin reviewing petitions that were filed by individuals who are disputing their last known account balance at Absolute Poker and/or UltimateBet. Petitions by individuals who submitted a filing as a new petition and no confirmation was provided of account balance will also be reviewed.
The GCG will continue to accept petitions at the absolute poker claims site but filings are now considered late so they will be reviewed at a later date and at the discretion of the Department of Justice. The website for claims will continue to be updated so players are informed as to what will happen next or what steps to take next based on their individual claim status.
Money has yet to be sent to players but it shouldn’t be long before former members of the poker sites begin to see cash in their bank accounts. The Garden City Group had stated that players should see payment four to six weeks from the time that banking information was submitted.
