by Cathy Roberts on June 4, 2009

Two of the largest online poker rooms removed  their Instant eCheck deposit options. The deposit method  has been disabled for United States Poker players.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

Due to processing problems, our eCheck option is currently unavailable.

Please try using another deposit method to fund your PokerStars account. If you would like information on any of our other deposit options, please visit:

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you.

No other official announcements have been made, but this could be a big big deal for online poker players from the United States. Both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker have disabled Instant  eChecks as a  poker deposit option for United States poker players.. aftermath of the UIGEA? Or merely a software issue?

We have contacted both PokerStars and Fulltilt Poker for comment. Both rooms were asked if this move has any relation to the UIGEA and United States banking regulations, we will update the moment we hear back.
