Dealerless Poker Tables – Novelty Wearing off in Detroit Michigan
By Cathy Roberts on Aug 25, 2007 with Comments 0
I was originally against computerized dealerless poker tables, however, I’ve been reading about them, players reactions to them, and casino’s responces, and I’ve changed my mind, a bit. It would seem there is a following for them. When the PokerPro table was first installed at Greektown Casino in DT Michigan, there was a line, to get on the waiting list.

These new poker tables were hot items! However, it would seem they have cooled off a bit, however, they have created a new visitor group for land based casinos. These new casino goers are primarily the youngest folks allowed in the casino. They’re ‘online poker players’ they want the game to move, quickly, and the computerized dealer helps that happen.
MotorCity Spokeswoman Jacci Woods says “It is very popular; however, it is a unique market,” and much to the relief of traditional poker fans, “It doesn’t seem to pull from our traditional players at all.”
